Worth – What is yours?

The underflying feelings we mere humans often experience are directly aligned to our self-worth. We have basic needs to feel secure, loved, appreciated, valued, cared and provided for. But we also have needs of challenge, excitement, anticipation, happiness, freedom, accomplishment, purpose and fulfillment. However the greatest driving force underneath all of these needs is our own view of how worthy we believe we are.

Think about your own needs in life….Is there fear attached to those needs? Is that fear fuelling the belief that you aren’t deserving of what you truly desire?

When you think about what you want and need and in your life to feel fulfilled and loved, what are your fears for not having those needs met? Really notice the feelings arising within you… Think about the words you would use to describe these feelings: not good enough, not important enough, not appreciated, taken for granted, ignored, unnoticed, failure….

Now write them down and view your fears. Gain clarity in the different perspective of reading these words on a page. Take away some of their power to emotionally influence your self-belief. You are stronger than your fears – take your power back!

Do you truly believe these are fears worth worrying about?

Be honest with yourself about the ones that scare you:
Where did that fear come from?
What strengths did you take away from that experience that can serve you well now if you direct your energy positively?
Now look again at the fear – is it truly relevant to your life now? Is the belief about yourself associated with that fear actually true for you now?
And remove the what-ifs – they haven’t happened.

Confronting the negative beliefs about yourself from old hurts or past experiences can help to release the emotions behind them and allow you to let them go. Those old emotions and beliefs don’t serve you in Now. They are past, spent, over, void.

You have the power to create your future but to do that you must be present and live in the Now.

Believe in your power to start each new day afresh. Believe in your right to be here and make a difference. Believe in yourself and your dreams for the future. Do your best each day and learn from your journey. Choose to believe you are worth what you want – hold that conviction, declaration, affirmation firm in your thoughts and never give up.
