The Way to Healing

Please don’t think for one moment that I don’t have bad days or bad weeks where I feel overwhelmed, tired and fed up, and just want some time to myself.

I’m not so great at resting when there’s so much I could be doing, so having to lay back for the last five weeks with my knee up after surgery has challenged me.

Feeling vulnerable and frustrated that I haven’t been able to do things for myself and have to ask for help (especially when the children were home on school holidays) certainly tested my ability to stay cool under pressure!

DEEP SLOW BREATHING has been my saviour in bringing my mind back into my body and listening to my heart.

When I breathe into my heart, I can hear what it’s saying to me, and lately the message has been:

“Take this time to love yourself well… and breathe”

I am reminded yet again that it’s not what we’re going through, but how we respond to it: what we’re feeling and how we attend to those feelings.

In attending to my own feelings I decided to make the most of this recovery time and really connect with my self-care routine: read, write, drink greens daily, take magnesium salt baths, connect with friends and family, sit in the sun, meditate, watch and listen to inspiring programs (like my recordings of last years Eating Psychology Conference – Join for FREE now!*) and generally being my own best friend as my body navigates healing.

I hope that when your own body or heart speaks, you will tune in and listen.

It’s the quickest way to healing….
