Let Go in 2014 - Your New Years Resolutions

I Choose to Let Go!

In life we accumulate so much “stuff”. Some would call it baggage: emotional, physical, mental, spiritual.

We focus on the bad things, carry past hurts and resentments, and rarely stop to alleviate the burdens we carry along the way.

We tend to overwhelm ourselves with all that needs doing, everything we want to change, thoughts of not being good enough.

Our minds are incessantly firing worrying, fearful and negative thoughts all over the place. Much to our distracted conscious awareness.

We are consumed by our thinking about things, people, feelings or beliefs. And we often forget that our lives can be very different depending on what we’re holding onto in favour of living a conscious life of purpose and passion.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if instead of making empty promises in the shape of New Years Resolutions, that we set an intention to “Let Go” in 2014…

To let go of expectations
To let go of assumptions
To let go of perfectionism
To let go of fear
To let go of judging ourselves
To let go of judging others
To let go of unhealthy habits
To let go of old beliefs…
To let go of comparing ourselves
To let go of destructive behaviours
To let go of people pleasing
To let go of needing others approval
To let go of believing we’re not good enough
To let go of past hurts keeping us in pain
To let go of thinking we’re not good enough
To let go of always having to “do” things
To let go of taking on other people’s stress
To let go of our own stress
To let go of allowing others to mistreat us
To let go of hating our bodies
To let go of needing to be right
To let go of punishing ourselves

“Let Go” in 2014 and make more room in your life to embrace what you want more of!

What would you like to let go of this year?

Write your own list of things, people, feelings or beliefs you’d like to let go of to make room for new ones.

Choose one thing to focus on letting go of for one week. Try to replace it with a positive opposite before moving on to something else on your “Let Go of” list.

Be mindful and aware of your automatic thinking and behaviours to certain situations and people so you can begin to grow your mindfulness and start switching your focus to embrace healthier, happier and more confident choices.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Years from V 2014
