Become Your Own Best Health Advocate

If you follow me on my Facebook page you’ll know that last Wednesday I was woken in the early hours with EXCRUCIATING lower right, abdominal pain followed by vomiting bile.

I was taken to hospital and drugged up on morphine, asked to pee in a jar, fill up with fluid for a couple of ultrasounds, then drink a litre of dye and be injected with contrast for a CT scan.

The suspects – kidneys, ovaries and appendix – were all clear, but not before they offered to call a surgeon to cut me open and take a look-see!

My darling husband observed that with all the doctors and questions, not one of them asked me about food or what I’d been eating!

I was in pain and they were focused on finding it within their narrow allopathic view.

In the end I left the hospital with no answers and no real investigation. 

The whole experience was a reminder of the missing elements often present in modern medicine.

So I filmed a facebook video about my experience (I warn you, I don’t look pretty in it!).

After that, I started hearing terrible stories of people struggling and being misdiagnosed.

Since then I’ve embarked upon my own health investigation, digging deeper into the why and how, searching for the root cause of my experience.

I’ve been experiencing irregular bowel movements, constant bloating and burping, trouble with eating and feeling full, tiredness, fogginess, and interrupted sleep.

Last Friday I saw my holistic chiropractor, we did some investigation and discovered I possibly have parasites – or something foreign upsetting my inside – mostly likely picked up from the bottled water in Phuket last month.

I’ve already hit my insides hard with clove oil, olive leaf extract and bentonite clay and something is happening!

Top of my food list now is garlic, red onion, coconut oil, lots of fibrous vegetables, apple cider vinegar and fermented foods.

Grains, dairy, sugar, coffee and alcohol are largely off of it – which they are anyway.

If you’re interested in how this came about and what I’m doing and why, I filmed another short UPDATE video last Friday for my Facebook followers in the hope my own experience through this may be helpful for anyone suffering needlessly and looking for answers to encourage you to become your own best health advocate.

In the meantime I have an appointment with my local GP this Friday to follow up and request a stool test. This will be the best method for detecting and confirming parasites. (UPDATE: It is confirmed I have a parasite called Dientemoeba Fragilis which I’m now researching the correct treatment protocol for and will write about in the very next blog you can access down below).

We all deserve vibrant health and balanced wellbeing, but this experience is messing with my wellness so it’s time to step up and take control of my own health.

I want to be upfront and honest about sharing my experience in the hope you’ll take your own health into hand and dig a little deeper as to why you might be feeling less than yourself.
