Benefits of Bentonite Clay

Bentonite Clay and it’s Benefits

Last year in my effort to combat environmental toxins harming my internal health, I discovered organic, edible bentonite clay.

Clay has been used therapeutically for centuries, with the first use of medicinal clay recorded in 2500 B.C in Mesopotamia.

Over the centuries the Greeks, Romans, Aztecs and Europeans have all hailed the health benefits of clay.

During the First World War, German physicians used clay therapy to successfully treat troops for food poisoning, dysentery, and diarrhea and wound infection.

Dr. Weston A. Price, author of Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, observed that several indigenous groups around the world used clay readily to outsmart disease and illness.

Those in the Andes, Central Africa and Australia would often carry dried balls of clay in their satchels to be consumed in water before meals to aid in warding off possible toxins or poisons.

Science has discovered what indigenous groups had known all along: clay is a powerful, protective and healing substance that helps in detoxifying the body.

It’s little surprise that bentonite is a key ingredient found in many colon cleansing and detox products.

Bentonite clay detoxifies the liver, colon and skin as a very effective cleanser. It also absorbs nasty bacteria throughout the system and even soaks up radiation — electromagnetic or otherwise.

The list of ailments that respond to bentonite is long. It eliminates food allergies, parasites, candida and viral infections.

Arthritis, diarrhoea and stomach ulcers are reportedly conquered too.

You can think of bentonite as a porous sponge, mopping up toxins from poor food choices, contaminated water and modern living.

The secret is in bentonite clay’s negative charge. A negative charge allows the clay to attract only substances that have a positive charge, such as toxins, harmful bacteria, pesticides, heavy metals, and pathogens—without leaching away any beneficial elements.

This clumping action prevents toxic molecules from passing through the walls of the intestines and entering the bloodstream. Together with the clay, the toxins are then eliminated harmlessly out of the body through the kidneys.

As an added bonus, bentonite helps to balance gut bacteria through its alkalizing properties.

I have been using a beautiful organic Australian product as a purifying drink, homemade toothpaste, cleansing face mask, and body scrub with essential oils.

I’ve noticed more energy, clearer skin, and a happier gastrointestinal tract.

Tips for using bentonite clay

Two types of bentonite clay are available: sodium and calcium. For internal use, it is important to use calcium bentonite. Purity of the clay is vital to avoid contaminants — always use a reputable and trusted brand and do not allow healing clays to come into contact with anything metal.
